ICC's "Alltime Test Player Rankings" - greatest joke of the century

ICC proved its stupidity again by publishing the list of Greatest Player’s of the history of world cricket. Can anyone believe that Sachin Tendulkar comes in that list at 26th place!! It’s not only about Sachin few more Tendulkar there are controversial rankings. Let’s just check the list first.

In this list there are 15 players whom I did not see playing, so can’t comment only based on available statistics. But I can comment on Lara, Tendulkar at least. I don’t know from which angle Sangakkara and Mohammed Yusuf’s name come before Tendulkar and Lara. If ICC talks about Greatness then they should look into all the aspects, they cannot restirict themselves by saying “All the measurements have been done when players were at their peak form”. Shahid Afridi scored a century in 37 deliveries. Sachin, Lara, Jayasuriya no players could do that in peak of their form. Does that mean Afridi is greatest player in ODI? Actually there is no point in talking all these points. I just want to share an example just to prove how great Sachin really is. From that day I am watching cricket, I heard a lot many names who were compared with Sachin Tendulkar. Each time media doubted Tendulkar’s greatness by comparing his performance with the others. But they just came played some good cricket and retired. Tendulkar is still there and that is not for proving himself in front of the world but because of his capability. The list is a long one. Mark Waugh, Inzamam Ul Haq, Brian Lara, Saeed Anwar, Ricky Ponting, Jack Kallis, Mike Hussey. Isn’t it pretty clear that if one person’s performance is compared with so many big names then that is enough to prove his greatness? I think there is no doubt.
